Emily is a registered occupational therapist. She completed a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto and a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at York University.
Emily has many years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum in play-based, relationship-focused therapeutic interventions as well as in ABA. She has work experience in home-based programs, community-based programs and school settings. Her work experience encouraged her to seek a holistic framework to support her clients, leading her to occupational therapy. Emily uses a strength-based and family-centred approach when supporting her clients. She loves learning about each child’s unique skills and interests, using these interests to support their goals.
Emily is certified in DIR®Floortime and in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). She has additional training in arousal regulation, sensory processing disorder, praxis/motor planning and neurodevelopmental technique (NDT). Emily is a perpetual student, always seeking opportunities to broaden her knowledge.
